Brendan Lyons: Reel to Real

Reel to Real is a solo exhibition by Liverpool-based artist Brendan Lyons, exploring perception, representation and the possibilities of paint.

In this new exhibition at Hamilton Vault Studios, Brendan includes readymade elements such as aluminium tape reels and toilet paper dispensers, combining them with paint to explore new themes in his practice. The apparent sections of audio tape and paper rolls consist of paint alone. They flow from the walls across the gallery floor. The uniformly concrete surfaces of the walls and floors of this former bank vault provide a perfect backdrop for the paintings.
