Social enterprise Make CIC has launched an open call for three young emerging creatives aged 16 to 25 to join This Place, This Stage, a 12-month Creative Residency hosted at their Make Huyton Village space (47-49 Derby Road, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 9UQ).

Designed to support the next generation of local talent, the initiative offers selected applicants a dedicated shared studio workspace valued at £1,600, a £200 travel stipend, tailored masterclasses, and direct mentorship from Make’s Community & Project Manager. Residents will also receive financial and logistical support to host a final exhibition showcasing their work.

The incoming cohort will follow in the footsteps of current residents who have benefited from a wide range of practical and professional development. Over the past six months, the current group has taken part in hands-on workshops including vinyl and sticker making, laser cutting, financial management, and marketing, while preparing their work for an upcoming showcase and thriving within Make’s supportive artistic community.

Make CIC welcomes applications from across all creative fields, including visual arts, photography, illustration, filmmaking, theatre, music, and craft, regardless of whether candidates have professional experience or currently pursue their practice as a hobby. Centred around themes of home, identity, community, heritage, and shared histories, the programme grants residents 24/7 studio access and full use of Make Huyton Village’s Innovation Lab for product design and digital fabrication.

“We are looking for driven young individuals based in Knowsley who are eager to develop their creative practice and take the next step in their careers,” said the team at Make CIC. “Whether you are an established maker or just beginning to explore your creative interests, this programme is designed to provide the space, tools, and community needed to turn creative passions into something more.”
