Volunteering for Health is a three-year programme to build the capacity and capability of organisations and local health and care systems in England, through the development of volunteering infrastructure.
The programme, in partnership with NHS Charities Together, NHS England, and CW+ (the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust), has been designed to be developmental, recognising differing organisational starting points, prioritising learning and collaboration and to increase understanding of the impact of volunteering within health and care systems, at both a local and national level.
Recognising the vital role of collaboration in advancing volunteering to push forward innovation, LCVS has been awarded a total of £105,000 to distribute locally to successful grant applicants with the following remit:
The purpose of the Volunteering for Health Liverpool grant programme is to:
‘Build the capacity of VCFSE organisations to develop, test and/or strengthen volunteering approaches that improve health access, literacy, and hospital pathways for underserved communities in Liverpool.’
The maximum amount which organisations can apply for is £17,500. The grant will fund 12 months of activity, beginning in May 2026 and ending in June 2027, and must be fully spent during this period.
Applicants will be informed of application outcomes in mid-April and successful applicants will receive a one off grant payment in May 2026.
