Everyman Theatre: Unseen Beauty: Art Beyond Sight
Date: 26.2.26 - 14.3.26
Time: 11:00 - 15:00
Location: Everyman Theatre, 5-11 Hope Street, Liverpool, L1 9BH
Beauty is a universal human experience. However, the way we perceive and feel it is deeply personal. How we experience beauty differs from one person to another. Yet, for many, beauty is intrinsically linked to vision. This exhibition invites you to explore beauty beyond sight, where beauty is shaped by sound, touch, memory, emotion, imagination, and vision is not the primary guide.
Unseen Beauty: Art Beyond Sight is an inclusive exhibition bringing together visually impaired children and adults and sighted individuals, artists, and scientists in a process of co-creation. The exhibition presents tactile sculptures, paintings, poetry and audio stories, celebrating diversity in how beauty is perceived and experienced by visually impaired people. Visitors are encouraged to watch, listen, touch, and reflect. This project aims to bridge differences, by focusing on the human experience of beauty, which we all share. It challenges stereotypes by celebrating the diversity and richness of the visually impaired community.
The opening event will take place on 25 February at the Everyman Theatre (1st floor Exhibition gallery, Hope Street Liverpool L1 9BH) at 5:00–7:00 pm.
