National Museums Liverpool is on a mission to find the best local talent with amazing and unique products. We’re committed to diversifying both our suppliers and the items we stock.

It’s really important to us to source more products from local makers and suppliers, and while we may be a big organisation, we often work with small businesses and order in low numbers.

We’re happy to give honest advice and feedback on suitability for our customers, pricing and quality.

Even if you are just starting out, we want to hear your ideas and discuss how we might work together.

We want to hear from local makers and creators to take the opportunity to have a chat and see how we might work together.

Speak to us at one of the makers markets events held on 3 July.

Or find out more from Karen O’Connor, Director of Commercial Enterprises, on 07900 828787 or an email karen.oconnor@liverpoolmuseums.org.uk

Why work with us?

We are a big museum group.

We buy small.

We are international.

We shop/stock local.

We care for historical artefacts.

We encourage new creations.

How does product selection happen?

· Products are selected based on suitability for the business in terms of price point and relevance to the customer base.

· For retail products purchasing decisions are made by the Merchandising Team.

· For catering products purchasing decisions are made by the Kitchen Operations team.

· Retail and catering operate to standard profit margins so the price of goods supplied to us needs to be acceptable for the supplier / maker and give us the opportunity to achieve our profit margin. We are happy to talk about what this means for individuals in more detail.

· The first point of contact for these discussions is Karen O’Connor, Director of Commercial Enterprises, karen.oconnor@liverpoolmuseums.org.uk, 07900 828787
