Yet another leading group of artists have selected The World of Glass as a showplace for their talents.Secretary of The Sefton Guild of Artists, June MacIver, says members are delighted with the way their work has been presented in their latest exhibition.

The Guild’s exhibition helps to reinforce The World of Glass’s status as a premier venue for arts groups in the North West. “Our facilities are encouraging an increasing number of groups to exhibit here,” says Hannah Longworth, Curator of The World of Glass, “and our reputation continues to grow“.
The Sefton Guild of Artists was formed in 1975 and brings together a range of professionals. Membership is by invitation only to ensure work of a high standard.
Their current exhibition ranges from paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolour to collage, embroidery, mixed media, printed media and sculpture.
“This is our first exhibition to include large-scale sculpture,” says Hannah Longworth,” and we have presented some near the window. “As soon as visitors spot this it draws them straight into the gallery.”
The sculpture in wood is by Guild Chairman Brian Lewis whose original interest was two-dimensional art and turned to sculpture around ten years ago, working in a wide variety of materials.
Among other Guild members exhibiting are Brussels-born Ulrich West, a former Liverpool College of Art student with a particular interest in landscape and Rosie Morison, who says her work reflects a long-term interest in ‘the human condition.’
Also on display is work by St Helens artist Paul Cousins who recently featured in The World of Glass’s Artists and Archives exhibition with his striking painting ‘Inferno’, winner in the St Helens Open Art exhibition three years ago.
The Sefton Guild of Artists exhibition runs in Gallery One at The World of Glass until July 18.
