The Warrington Museum has dedicated one of its recently refurbished galleries to
exhibiting and selling Contemporary British Craft.

Following the success of the recent Arts and Crafts fair, as part of
the first Contemporary Arts Festival, Derek Dick from the Museum has
teamed up with local jeweller Heather Fox to create this new venture.

They have invited a number of nationally renowned craft makers from
around the country, as well as having a local makers section called
‘Warrington Made’, to sell their designs in the new WREN gallery.

Heather, who is organising the event, started making jewellery at an
evening class before returning to University in 2004 to study for her
degree in Applied Arts, Jewellery & Metalwork.  She set up her
business in 2007 as part of her Professional Practice studies and has
since exhibited at various shows and galleries across the country.

This is a really exciting project to be working on and it’ll be
great to offer for sale such high quality craft…I hope this is the
first of many…

The WREN gallery will offer visitors the opportunity to purchase
unique and stunning craftwork, including jewellery, ceramics, prints
and textiles.

The British Contemporary Craft shop will open on Saturday 28 January
2012
