The Royal Standard presents SPACE IS NOT A VOID, an exhibition of works by Laura Aldridge, Lauren Printy Currie and Emily Musgrave.
By incorporating contemporary collage and sculptural assemblages, SPACE IS NOT A VOID explores the phenomenology of space. Drawing together practices which embody a strong sense of materiality, each work forces the viewer to consider and question their surrounding environment. Through utilising fragments of found objects, colour and texture as mechanisms to represent permanence and perception, the artists provides a response to both space and place. The works included in this exhibition convey a poetic fragility that is often inherent with constructed settings.
