Free activities for all the family at the National Conservation Centre.

 

Over the months of July, August and September the National Conservation Centre is hosting many free events, exhibitions and workshops for all the family to enjoy including:

Exhibitions

Sound and Vision: Music and Fashion photographed by Francesco Mellina, Liverpool, 1978-82

Until 31 August 2009
Francesco Mellina’s previously unseen black and white photography captures the excitement and diversity of the Liverpool music scene from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. From Punks to New Romantics, the photographs document the looks and sounds of performers and fans.

Moulding and casting

Find out how conservators make use of moulding and casting in this fun family session. (suitable for all ages)

Going potty

Have fun while you learn with our mini-archaeological dig. Help us find buried pieces of pottery and try to put them back together.

Picking up the pieces

Imagine being a conservator, faced with the remains of a broken plate, with pieces missing. Can you fix it…? (suitable for all ages)

Spirit of Liverpool

Learn about one of the largest marble statues in the country and have fun modelling a new sculpture to represent the city of Liverpool. (suitable for over 8’s)
