Now+then uncovers Merseyside’s journey with HIV from the 1980s to the present day, through people’s own stories. The installation explores how local people and communities have responded to HIV and the prejudice and discrimination that still exist today. Featuring short film and sound recordings in which people living with HIV share their own remarkable stories.
The installation is part of the Museum of Liverpool’s partnership programme Our City, Our Stories, which enables local groups and organisations to present their own interpretation of the museum’s themes.
Now+then was created by Sahir House in collaboration with Soft Octopus Design Studio and Thinking Film. Sahir House is Merseyside and North Cheshire’s HIV charity. We have been supporting people living with and affected by HIV for three decades.

Supported by Heritage Lottery Fund.
