This exhibition is a rare opportunity to see the works of Liverpool artist Edward Carter Preston (1884-1965) from the period of The Great War 1914-1918.
He is principally known as a designer of medals, including the Next of Kin Memorial Plaque and the Distinguished Flying Cross. His innovative ‘Plychrome’ sculptures were made to support the rehabilitation of those who had been disabled in active service.
The works, presented alongside original design drawings, have been drawn from the collection of the Liverpool Hope University Carter Preston Foundation.
