MyWar: Participation in an Age of War

A radically personal look at conflict through the work of 12 international artists, including Phil Collins, Thomson and Craighead, Milica Tomic and Harun Farocki, MyWar investigates the reality of conflict at a time when digital and social media have affected the way that we perceive the world.

As part of the exhibition, FACT invites the public to tell us what war means to them, by logging into http://mywar.fact.co.uk/ or visiting FACT Media Lounge space.

Informed by scientific research and inspired by historical developments in media technology, Persistence of Vision explores the interplay of vision, memory and media. Presenting contemporary artists’ works that repurpose current image technologies as well as those of our recent past, it playfully reviews and re-imagines the devices through which our memories are stored and revived.

Exhibition delivered in partnership with Nikolaj Copenhagen Contemporary Art Center, Denmark

Liverpool Biennial Presents a Touched Talk with Tony Chakar

Tony Chakar is a Lebanese artist and architect who investigates the way turbulent pasts can inhibit the consciousness of a city.


MyWar Film Programme

From the streets of Beirut to the concentration camps of Nazi-occupied Poland, the MyWar film programme takes a closer look at individuals who have been personally affected by war. These films and talks look beyond military zones to the emotional conflicts that arise out of warfare. Whether it is domestic violence, covert romance, or post-traumatic stress – war is a conflict that affects us all.
