Contrast – photography exhibition by St Helens College
5 – 14 August 2009
The Contrast show comprises of photographic works created by both Students and Staff from St Helens College.
The College is proud to announce the recent validation of a B.A. [hons] in Photography by Liverpool John Moores University. This programme will replace the already successful 2 year Foundation Degree porgramme in Photography & Digital Imaging. Most of the student work on show was exhibited at the end of year show in May 2009, held at St Helens College. The students involved are progressing from Level 2 Foundation Degree directly onto Level 3 of the new B.A. [hons] Degree starting this September 2009.
The show can be considered a celebration of this transitional period and has been directly supported by both St Helens College, Liverpool John Moores University and the Novas Contemporary Urban Centre.
The new B.A. [hons] in Photography programme at St Helens College has been designed by photographic practitioners with the sole objective of providing a comprehensive and innovative education within this discipline of the visual arts. It has a good balance of both theory and practice and covers a variety of specialist disciplines within the field of photographic image making, using both analogue and digital processes.
