Private View: Friday 20th January 2012
Exhibition dates: Saturday 21st January – Saturday 3rd March
This exhibition features the work of a group of several artists and in anticipation of Valentine’s Day will celebrate the theme of Love with a desirable selection of unique artworks, all individually made by hand. The exhibition features a range of different media including a delightful collection of jewellery, ceramics and textiles. The focus of the exhibition is upon items, which might be given as a ‘love token’ to someone special.
Exhibitors include Alan Ardiff, Helen Beard, Hilary Brock, Jane Charles, Virginia Graham, Michelle Holmes, Naomi James, Anja Lubach, Adele Taylor and Liverpool based artist Elizabeth Willow.
Elizabeth’s practice combines elements of sculpture, installation, poetry and performance, and draws upon diverse methods and techniques including flower-arranging, taxidermy, embroidery, dance and bookbinding. Her work is often inspired by myths and stories, exploring memory, a sense of longing and the notion of contradiction. Elizabeth’s works are painstakingly created from found and reclaimed materials, making use of a life-time’s accumulation of old paper and love of flowers. She has exhibited locally and nationally.
