On Saturday 13, in the Black-E, enthusiasts in large numbers will enjoy what is going to be the freshest and most brilliant Freestyle Hip Hop Theatre: The Surgery with Jonzi D, British Hip Hop Theatre pioneer. He invites the audience to become part of the event, giving comments and asking questions.
In the week leading to the final performance, Jonzi D will host Theatre Lab Workshops, a platform for emerging and established artists to work together, test new work and share ideas. Liverpool B-boys/ Girls, beat makers and performing artists are invited to work with Jonzi D and international guests; and get creative. The workshops will take place from Thursday 11 to Friday 12 March 6 – 9.30pm in the Black-E’s superb new dance space, geared for in-the-round theatre.
Jonzi D discovered the amazing Hymphatic Thabs, gin i grindith, Krook’d da Warmonga emcees in South Africa and invited them to join The Surgery. This is their debut in the UK. The Surgery has been a regular event in London for the past three years, and it comes to Liverpool for the first time.
