From the Liverpool Shakespeare Festival…
From Thursday to Saturday this week, Liverpool’s only Open Air Cinema in the stunning setting of St James’ Gardens, next to Liverpool Cathedral. For only £6, concessions £4, you can come and watch the following program on a huge, inflatable airscreen in the historic cemetery:
7th August 2008 – Shakespeare in Love. John Madden’s blockbuster hit starring, among others, Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes.
8th August – Looking for Richard. Al Pacino’s cult film with Winona Ryder, Kevin Spacey, Alec Baldwin, . . .
9th August – Romeo & Juliet. Baz Luhrmann’s stunning 1996 film adaptation starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Clare Danes, etc.
Enjoy these timeless, great films along with homemade popcorn and drinks from our al fresco bar. You can also pre-book a delicious picnic which Delifonseca will tailor to your choice – spoil yourself and complete your cinema experience with a range of mouth-watering delicatessen for only £9 per person.
On 13th August, The Liverpool Shakespeare Festival will be making a special offer: PAY WHAT YOU LIKE! Come and enjoy the sneak preview of Lodestar Theatre Company’s magical new production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream‘. You can pre-book tickets as usual to secure your ticket or take a chance on the door – due to high demand we strongly recommend that you book in advance though.
The 14th August will then see the official premiere and press night of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, supported by special guests ‘A Handbag of Harmonies’ as seen on BBC’s ‘Last Choir Standing’.
‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ will be performed Wednesdays to Sundays at 7.30pm with doors, bar, al fresco restaurant and picnic collection opening at 6.30pm – please note that advance booking is required for both dinner and picnic.
