…The evening will now include a big screen presentation of some of Mike’s most famous photography including never-before-seen images from a new book in collaboration with Willy Russell!

Mike will talk about his brief stint as a ladies hairdresser at Andre Bernard, the Merseybeat era and his time as ‘Mike McGear’ in The Scaffold with John Gorman and Roger McGough and his photography, from snapping Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and the Beatles in the Cavern, to his amazing, spontaneous backstage shots at Live8 in 2005 and the latest ‘Mike McCartney’s North Highlands‘ book, with forewords by Billy Connolly and Prince Charles.

Mike will also discuss his passion for culture and the arts in Merseyside, in particular his support of and involvement in the 08 Capital of Culture bid and eventual celebrations.

As ever, the interview will be interspersed with live, acoustic versions of the interviewees five favourite songs, performed by established and emerging Liverpool artistes. Audience members will also have the chance to ask Mike the questions they’ve always wanted to ask during the Q&A at the end.
