Unity Theatre, Hope Place
18.09.2010 – Early 2011
The UnityTheatre is housed in a former synagogue: this piece looks at the parallels between theatre, religious ritual, performance and communion. An installation by Alexandra Wolkowicz and Jon Barraclough for the Unity Theatre, Liverpool to mark its 30th year.

A lovely installation in the entrance / box office area of the theatre. There is a large table – but no ordinary table, in fact its been assembled from various sources and beautifully joined together to include drawers, handles, displays and four different legs. Above the table hangs many items – the flotsam and jetsam of one or more lives. You are invited to take a peek inside the drawers.

The whole thing adds to the sense of theatre and must surely enhance the experience of the theatre-goers and passers-by.
