E-Space Lab: Liverpool/Shanghai Live Video Link – Sat 4th Nov

As part of e-space lab’s contribution to the Liverpool Exhibition “Walk On” at the 6th Shanghai Biennale the A Foundation is hosting an event during the closing days of the show.

Jonathan Kearney and Xu Zhifeng based in Shanghai will use a streaming video link to guide us in real time around the exhibition and to show the immediate urban locale in Shanghai.

This event is also the beginning of a research exchange process between architecture students based at JMU in Liverpool, and architecture students studying in Shanghai.

The live link runs from 12.00 – 13.30 on Saturday November 4th 2006

  1. If anyone wants to go to the Shanghai end of this link I will be there hosting at the ‘Walk On’ exhibition.

In another post I gave instructions to get to the exhibition, however I have just arrived in Shanghai (I live elsewhere in China) only to find the metro station has changed it’s name!

So here are the new directions:

take the Metro Line 2 (green Line) to West Nanjing Road (Nanjing Xi Lu – this stop was previously called ShiMen Road). Exit the underground station from exit 1. You should be on NanJing Road. Turn left and walk along the road for about 400 metres. On you right hand side will be 2 large shopping centres opposite each other at a junction. The furthest shopping centre is the CITIC centre. Go in and go down to the lower ground floor level and you will see the Salon Vogue and the ‘Walk On’ exhibition.

  2. I am a graduate student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I’m working on a project about contemporary artists in China. I was using a webpage until yesterday about the Shanghai Biennale 2006, and then it disappeared. I haven’t been able to get anything the past two days about the Biennale 2006 in English. Any ideas about what’s happening? Or how I can get a list of the Chinese artists who participated in the Shanghai Biennale 2006?
    Thanks, edh
