The School of Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University [LJMU] seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, Clinical Psychology or Mental Health and Wellbeing.
We are looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to contribute teaching on our accredited programmes in Psychology. We are pleased to consider applications from practitioners with supervisory and training experience who have limited experience of teaching in Higher Education.
This post provides the opportunity to join our dynamic team at a significant time of development for the School of Psychology and the Faculty. We are a large psychology department offering BPS Accredited programmes in Psychology [UG}, MSc Health Psychology, MSc Forensic and Investigative Psychology, Prof Doc Health Psychology and PWP training at levels 6 &7. Alongside we offer MScs in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Brain and Behaviour and Positive Psychology and Wellbeing. This post will help ensure we uphold our excellent staff student ratios and continue to build on our delivery of excellent teaching and research in Psychology.
The School has a thriving and vibrant research culture and outstanding teaching and research facilities. The vast majority of our staff are research active. We submitted over 42 FTE staff to REF2021, increased our Research Power (from 27 in 2014 to 76 in 2021) and were ranked 37 out of 93 Institutions for Research Power. Staff in the department currently hold substantial research grants from funders including Euro EU Chanse, Wellcome, NIHR, ESRC, BA, NHS Trusts, and a range of charitable organisations. The Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/research/centres-and-institutes/research-centre-for-brain-and-behaviour brings together research in the department under four main themes: Neuroscience, Health and Wellbeing, Forensic Psychology and Cognition, Education and Language.
You will have the opportunity to engage in research and contribute to our successful BPS Accredited programmes at undergraduate and Masters level.
The School operates a hybrid working policy. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with research/applied experience who is dedicated to providing an outstanding student experience who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Interviews for this position will take place in person on 15th October in the Tom Reilly Building, Byrom Street, Liverpool. The interviews will include a 10 minute presentation, the interview itself and a tour of facilities. In exceptional circumstances an online interview and presentation can be arranged.
