Location: Metal, Edge Hill Station, Tunnel road, Liverpool L7 6ND

Contract type: Fixed term

Contract hours: 4 days per week – including some weekend and evening working

Contract period: May – November 2017

Salary: £23,500 (Pro rata)

Job Specification  

Responsible to: Senior Project Manager, Mary Jane Edwards

Main Objectives This role will be focused on providing community engagement and facilitation support for Metal’s Senior Project Manager, handling a varied programme of community related activities and events over 2017. The Project Manager: Community & Engagement will be involved in planning, logistics and delivery through liaison with local organisations, residents, partners, artists and audiences supporting the aims of the organisation and representing Metal’s wider strategy. 

Targets for Project Assistant:

  • Plan, facilitate and deliver community engagement projects in Liverpool, notably within: Edge Hill, Kensington, Wavertree, Picton and Toxteth
  • Develop project specific plans, reports, and programme evaluations for all community related activities
  • Secure the involvement of local community groups, schools and partners in projects
  • Management of the organisation’s volunteer programme.
  • Support with project specific promotion and input into development of creative materials, marketing strategies and project documentation
  • Research, develop and build upon local partnerships to support Metal’s wider strategy
  • Input into development of project specific community engagement strategies
  • Encourage wider participation in Metal’s projects
  • Ensure Metal’s volunteer, safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults policies are up to date and in line with current policy
  • Any other responsibilities as reasonably required

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • A good knowledge of the Edge Hill / Liverpool area, including: Toxteth, Wavertree, Picton and Kensington areas
  • Experience of developing partnerships within Liverpool
  • Experience of working with young people, schools and youth groups within Liverpool
  • Experience supporting the development and delivery of large scale community projects
  • The ability to network and to bring other partners on board to deliver projects
  • Proven ability to plan and implement effective project schedules
  • Experience of working to a budget
  • Admin and computer skills – must be able to use office software including Excel and Word
  • Experience of working with diverse groups of people
  • Experience working with, coordinating and managing volunteers
  • A minimum of 5 years experience supporting the delivery of social and or, arts related community engagement activities

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of development, fundraising and sponsorship

Terms and Conditions

Salary £23,500 (pro rata) covering a six month period between May –  November  2017.

Metal will not pay travel and subsistence expenses but will reimburse legitimate work-related expense approved in advance.
