Project Blackfisk Audio Drama – Prop designer, Cipher Atlas Productions

Creating props for our website/social media campaign which will run alongside the episodes of the Audio Drama.

We are creating an exciting new pseudo-documentary Audio Drama: Project Blackfisk. Think Da Vinci Code meets a True-Crime Doc.
Our lead character, Amber, receives a mysterious box in the post addressed to her deceased grandfather which has been date sealed for 50 years. Unknowingly opening Pandora’s Box, Amber descends into a world of buried truths and dangerous lies, forcing her to confront the horrors of a series of secret medical trials – and the chilling connection to her grandfather.

Set in Manchester, the Audio Drama is in the form of a fictional podcast that Amber produces. We have taken real-life Mancunian history and events, and added our fictional narrative to them.

Our aim is to create an immersive experience for our audiences and as Amber releases her ‘podcast’ we will release extra bonus content alongside to grow the world of the show via her fictional social media channels and website. This is where we need some help.

We are looking for someone to source and design various props for the series so we can then photograph them and put them online. Some examples include:
– An archive box which has been sealed since 1974.
– Old folders of top-secret medical trial documents and patient history.
– A reel-to-reel audio tape labelled “Interview#12′

Our whole show is a passion project so we unfortunately can’t offer a fee, but all cost for materials bought will be covered. We’re hoping this may be of interest to those who love a good conspiracy thriller.

Job Requirements

Someone with a background in design, who can show evidence of other projects they have worked on and what they created.
We are based in Manchester so ideally we’d like someone based in the North West as we will have to meet up and collect the props upon completion.

Start/End date – Project will start whenever the chosen applicant is available. We are hoping to release the Audio Drama this summer so we’d ideally want all the props completed by July.

Project should take approx 8-10 hours.

Job Responsibilities

To create approximately 10 props for the show.
In the story some props have been stored since 1960 so will be need to be weathered appropriately.
We will talk through our list of props in more detail with the chosen applicant.

How to Apply

Please apply via the provided email address with a cover letter, and any more relevant info on why you think you’d be right for the job.
