We’re on the search for artists/creative technologists to prepare and facilitate a digital skills building Tech-Lab for professional and non-professional artists. The Tech-Labs will be toured over a number of weeks across four locations in the North, as part of FutureEverything’s new creative development programme, PROTO.
The PROTO_Tech-Labs are one strand of the PROTO creative development programme, and have been designed to give participants an insight into the world of digital making. The Tech-Labs are in-person, guided workshops led by Tech-Lab facilitators, where participants will get an opportunity to experiment with digital art tools, programmes and technologies.
About the role
We’re looking for artists and creative technologists, with experience in Tech-Lab facilitation, to prepare and deliver a digital skills Tech-Lab which will be toured over a number of weeks across four locations in the North.
Requirements
+ Must be based or working in the North and able to travel to PROTO locations
+ An experienced and confident artist/creative technologist who is able to facilitate and demonstrate a high-level of planning and delivering creative Tech-Lab activities that engage, inspire and motivate
+ Has an advanced understanding of digital arts tools, technologies and programmes
+ Has ability to work with a range of audiences, especially digital beginners and those from diverse communities
+ A current enhanced DBS check
+ Has experience of working with participants who are neuro diverse and have additional needs
+ Has an awareness and understanding of the gamer/coder community
Responsibilities
+ To develop x1 engaging and fun Tech-Lab focusing on a specific digital tool*
+ To deliver the Tech-Lab (with support from the FutureEverything team) across regions in the North
+ To attend evaluation meetings after Tech-Lab sessions
*Digital tools (to be confirmed with the Facilitator) could include from introductory sessions to programming, computer graphics, 3D modelling, immersive visuals, AR, working with video game environments, working with ML (Machine Learning), AI (artificial intelligence) and datasets.
The fee for Tech-Lab planning and delivery is £400 per Tech-Lab, a total of £1,600 for delivery across the four regions. There are additional resources to support the facilitation of the Tech-Lab, if required.
