About the Role
BIMM University is seeking an exceptional leader to become our new Dean of Performing Arts. This pivotal role will oversee the Performing Arts discipline across all our campuses, ensuring that students remain at the core of our curriculum and teaching practices. As Dean, you will be responsible for driving curriculum excellence, ensuring high-quality teaching, and improving student outcomes. You will lead a talented team, including Heads of School, and work collaboratively across departments to enhance the student experience and align our programs with the needs of the creative industries.

You’ll champion innovation, manage curriculum budgets, and ensure consistent quality across campuses. As a key member of the academic leadership team, you will represent the Performing Arts department both internally and externally, promoting BIMM University’s values of inclusivity, equity, and academic excellence.

What You’ll Do:
​
• Lead and manage the Performing Arts subject area across BIMM University, ensuring teaching excellence and student-centred learning.
• Drive improvements in student outcomes, including recruitment, continuation, completion, and graduate employment, collaborating with the Student Futures team and other stakeholders.
• Develop innovative strategies for improving access and participation, enhancing the international student experience, and supporting student transitions.
• Oversee curriculum development and continuous improvement to ensure that BIMM’s Performing Arts programs remain industry-leading and responsive to student needs.
• Manage and develop academic staff, promote teaching excellence, and ensure professional standards across the subject area.
• Represent the Performing Arts subject area in governance platforms, contributing to key academic boards, committees, and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with student experience teams to promote student well-being and resolve student success concerns.
• Drive industry connections, networking opportunities, and student employability in partnership with the Associate Dean: Student Futures.
• Lead, mentor, and support the Heads of School, ensuring effective management and leadership within your team.

What You’ll Bring:
​
• A postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant Performing Arts subject area, along with a teaching qualification in higher education.
• Extensive experience in a leadership role within higher education, with a track record of driving curriculum development and improving student outcomes.
• In-depth knowledge of the Higher Education framework, with experience in quality assurance, compliance, and regulatory issues.
• A proven ability to manage academic programs, recruit and develop staff, and foster a positive learning environment for students.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• A passion for innovation in education and a commitment to enhancing the student experience in creative arts education.
