It’s an exciting time to join Lakeland Arts as we reassess our approaches to collections care and access. You will play a crucial role in planning and prioritising a management programme that will ensure our collections are cared for, accessible and future proofed.
Together with the curatorial team, you will lead this process by developing and maintaining cataloguing, pest management and acquisition procedures as well as overseeing a collection rationalisation project for our social history collection at Lakeland Museum.
You will have proven experience of collections management with up-to-date knowledge of collections care and management standards and a creative approach to problem solving. You will be able to identify creative, cost-effective solutions to logistical challenges and will be involved in managing budgets and resources to ensure targets are met.
We are looking for an organised team player who will work closely with the Curatorial and Participation & Learning teams to support research and access to the collection for exhibitions, workshops and activities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help Lakeland Arts shape a new future for its extraordinary collections.
