Assistant to the Curator, Wordsworth Trust

Assistant to the Curator, Wordsworth Trust

The Wordsworth Trust is looking to recruit for the role of Assistant to the Curator. The principal purpose of this role will be to provide organisational and secretarial support for the Curator & Head of Learning, and thereby contribute to the effective running of the Curatorial and Learning Department.

The post-holder will also be responsible for undertaking a new digitisation project, funded by the Friends of the National Libraries, which will fully digitise the Wordsworth Trust’s Bewick collection.  It is envisaged that this project will take 6 months to complete (beginning as soon as possible after appointment) and 3 out of 5 days a week of the post-holder’s time will be dedicated to this. After the project is completed, this will become a full time administrative role.

While this is an administrative role, it does offer the opportunity to experience the running of a busy Collections & Learning Team. This is an exciting time to join the Wordsworth Trust as we develop and deliver our Heritage Lottery Funded project ‘Reimagining Wordsworth’ and seek a continuation of our major Arts Council funding.

For further details and an application pack please contact Catherine Harland – c.harland@wordsworth.org.uk.

The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 23 January; interviews will be held in Grasmere on Wednesday 1 February.

This is a one year fixed term contract, with the potential for renewal
