Administrator, Northern Chamber Orchestra

Deadline: Monday 21 December 2015. Paid, Part time.

The critically-acclaimed Northern Chamber Orchestra (NCO) is looking for a highly organised, effective team player with an extensive range of administrative skills to join its office in Hulme, Manchester.

16 hours per week + attendance at approx. 10 evening concerts per year. Permanent.

Administrator main duties:

Coordinate office administration and develop office systems.

Deal with Box Office and telephone enquiries.

Support General Manager with financial data inputting, systems development / database management.

Assist Learning Manager e.g. with education schedules; project arrangements / participant feedback.

Coordinate / contribute to team & sub-committee meetings. Take Board meeting Minutes.

Liaise with technical support to help keep office IT working well.

Provide front-of-house support at NCO-promoted concerts.

Required Skills & Attributes:

Highly organised, with strong communication skills. Comfortable dealing with a wide range of people on the phone, in person or via email.

Excellent time-management skills; able to work to deadlines and cope well in a busy office environment.

Enthusiastic team player – also competent working as an individual.

Good writing skills, with excellent attention to detail and accurate spelling and grammar.

High level of computer literacy: working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word essential / Sage desirable.

Availability to attend NCO concerts / very occasional evening meetings.

Knowledge and appreciation of classical music and / or the Arts.
