Access Advisor, Without Walls

Without Walls is seeking to appoint an Access Advisor to expand Embedded Access provisions within our Creation & Touring Programme 2026.

The purpose of this role is to work closely with the programme artists and festivals to expand awareness and implementation of Embedded Access, for tourable outdoor arts productions and small-mid scale outdoor arts festivals.

Contract Type: Temporary Freelance

Fee: Â£3250 (+VAT if applicable) for the delivery of the outlined advisory work.

This corresponds to a total of 13 days of work at a daily fee of £250.

Days per week to be worked flexibly, according to the needs of the postholder, artists and festivals.

Key dates: The work is to be carried out between Thursday 30 October 2025 and Wednesday 30 September 2026. Please refer to the Outline of Work section in the recruitment pack for details.

Please note that, as part of the contract, the selected candidate must be available to work approximately 4 days between the dates of Thursday 30 October and Monday 24 November 2025. The successful candidate must also be available to attend the Artist Welcome Meeting on Friday 28 November 2025.

All travel and accommodation costs required for attending in-person events will be covered by Without Walls in accordance with our Expense Policy.

Managed by: Without Walls EDI Manager

Access requirements: We ask candidates to share their access requirements with us so we can make any reasonable adjustments if needed. If the postholder requires an Access Support Worker to fulfil the role, and is unable to receive this support through Access to Work or other means, Without Walls can assist with the costs of this.

The postholder should have demonstrable knowledge of best practice for Embedded Access in the arts sector. They will be working with all programme artists to develop a shared Embedded Access provision for the 2026 touring programme. They will also work with selected artists to develop bespoke Embedded Access for a specific touring project; and with select festivals to implement tailored provisions to develop Embedded Accessibility at their events.

The postholder will have experience of working with artists to design Embedded Access from the start of a project, and will also have knowledge of the practical considerations for implementing Embedded Access. For example, they can provide accurate guidance on designing appropriate budgets and timelines for accessible productions etc.
