Environmental Artist Call, Northstone Cynefin Public Art Scheme (Stage 2), Bolton at Home

We are looking for an experienced, NW England based environmental/public artist/s to prepare and implement a Design Proposal for a permanent piece of art or a number of smaller, linked pieces of art. We are particularly keen to encourage applications from artists working with sustainable materials

CONTEXT

Northstone and Bolton at Home are partnering on a scheme to build over 200 new homes, 35% of which will be affordable homes, on the site of the former Horwich Golf Club, off Victoria Road, Horwich. Bolton Council planning policy requires the provision of public art as part of the development and a budget for public art has been allocated. Bolton at Home’s Percent for Art service will support the development and delivery of the public art scheme.

Stage 1 of the project took place in the second half of 2024 and involved a programme of creative community engagement activities with local groups, residents, schools and young people’s centre.

This commission is for Stage 2 of the project.
