Writing Development Manager, WoW Fest

Role – Writing Development Manager

Salary – £23,000

Hours – 9:30-5pm

We are hiring a Writing Development Manager who will lead our acclaimed writing centre, The Writer’s Bloc. Work with high profile artists and writers, as we create a series of writing centres across the region, making creative writing accessible to all communities and give people the space to share their voices.

We are looking for someone to lead on administrating and delivering our Writer’s Bloc across the city region. Collaborating with artists to create workshops, hold discussions and facilitate one-to-one sessions through our writers in residence.

  • Liaise with local, national and international artists to build a series of writing residences
  • Administrative responsibilities including, planning and scheduling
  • Monitoring ticketing systems
  • Assist in the set up of marketing campaigns including-
    • Social Media Campaigns
    • Print Materials
    • Website Content
    • Press Releases
  • Create relationships with other organisations in order to promote The Writer’s Bloc
  • Be responsible for budgeting the project
  • Share the work of people who never thought they would have had their stories heard.

As a part of COoL Collective, we are at the centre of Liverpool’s culture sector and involved in projects across the region, from installations to festivals including our acclaimed WoWFEST.

What is The Writer’s Bloc?

First formed in 2020 as a response to the global Covid-19 pandemic, The Writer’s Bloc provides a space for anyone to access creative writing regardless of income, level or location. We believe everyone’s story is important and deserves to be heard, it is with this as its heart that The Writer’s Bloc exists. Offering free workshops, discussions and one-to-one sessions with professional artists entirely online across every genre of writing you can think of.
