Volunteer Gallery Mediator, Liverpool Pride

Volunteer Gallery Mediator, Liverpool Pride

We are looking for a team of Volunteer Gallery Mediators for the week Monday 16 – Sunday 22 July 2018, to help us engage artists and public in ideas around LGBT+ equality and how we can make Liverpool Pride 2019 our most inclusive ever – it will be our 10th Pride festival and we’re starting to plan now!

We are looking for people who will engage the public actively using workshop techniques and conversation. This is not an invigilation post but a chance to animate Liverpool Pride’s residency at the TATE Exchange Liverpool space. No previous experience is necessary as training will be given, but you must be interested in and care about how creativity can help our campaign for equality and diversity.

You do not need to be LGBT+ to take part, but you must be interested in and care about how LGBT+ people experience the world. You should be confident talking to new people and enjoy talking about art.

Liverpool Pride is an entirely volunteer-led organisation. We believe that diversity strengthens and enriches everyone, and that it is the responsibility of everyone involved with Liverpool Pride to make the cultural and voluntary sector a more diverse and equal place. As Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME), Trans and disabled people are currently under-represented with us, we particularly encourage and welcome BAME, Trans* and disabled volunteers.

Training will take place on site on Monday 16th July, and volunteer days and times are flexible. Travel expenses will be paid for volunteers up to the value of a Liverpool City Region day travel pass and we would encourage volunteers from this region to apply.  Please email volunteer@liverpoolpride.co.uk to express interest.
