Volunteer Coordinator, Independents Biennial 2018 – Art in Liverpool C.I.C.
Deadline: 14th April 2018
Interviews: 20th April 2018
Hours: 46 days, May-October 2018 (working between 1-4 days per week)
Fee: £4,428.00 (£12 per hour)
Start date: asap
Art in Liverpool are running the Independents Biennial 2018 between July and October 2018. We are now looking to appoint a Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator to support the delivery of the festival.
Independents Biennial is focussed on bringing contemporary visual art to audiences around the city region on the fringe of Liverpool Biennial, celebrating the artistic talent that lives and works in the North West. With exhibitions and events planned to take place around the entire Liverpool City Region this is a key role, coordinating the recruitment, movement and development of volunteers within the festival.
Working two days a week, from home, or Art in Liverpool’s city centre office base, the successful applicant will be responsible for recruiting around 30 new volunteers during the festival, arranging their travel and expenses, and supporting their active development. Part of the role is working with volunteers to understand what can be done to support their development, whether it is as artists, writers or otherwise, and what Art in Liverpool can continue to do to work with them beyond the festival.
Delivering continuation of the role itself is key to the position, so experience of project evaluation would be useful, ensuring results are clearly communicated to current and future funders.
(Full details of the role responsibilities, and application criteria are copied below)
The role of the Volunteer Coordinator is available between April and October 2018 as a temporary position, with the potential to extend the contract subject to further funding.
If the successful applicant does not have access to the appropriate software or hardware, we can provide company equipment for the duration of the project. Art in Liverpool hope to build a team that represents the diversity of the region, so we encourage applications from all areas of the community.
To apply, please send an up to date copy of your CV, along with a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role, to independents@artinliverpool.com by 9am on Saturday 14th April
