Northwich Hub: Lion Salt Works and Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse
West Cheshire Museums is an exciting 5-site service with unique collections and listed buildings which tell the stories of Cheshire. We are recruiting for staff to join the Northwich Hub team to cover Lion Salt Works and Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse. The museum teams work across the Chester and Northwich hubs to ensure visitors are inspired and enthused by their discoveries.
Lion Salt Works, the recently (HLF funded) restored industrial heritage site with scheduled status, opened in June 2015 as a primary visitor attraction. The partner museum in Northwich, Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse, has benefitted from new galleries to tell the stories of local industry and the workhouse. Both sites have an engaging approach to telling the stories associated with the collections, an imaginative activity programme and an evolving calendar of events and activities.
Visitor Services is the first point of contact for visitors and provides the welcome and customer care for visitors to Cheshire West Museums.
The duties include: café duties, retail, reception, customer care, public area preparation, security, gallery tours, lecture and venue hire preparation. Other duties are technical support, events and family craft activities. The museums are open 6 days a week including some evenings.
The posts are advertised on a casual basis (i.e. no fixed hours). If you require further information please contact Kathryn Ravenscroft on 01244 975040.
Interviews: 29th Feb to 4th March 2016.
