RETAIL & EVENTS OFFICER Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool
Hours: Full Time
Contract: Permanent: Tuesday – Saturday with some occasional evening work.
Salary: To £13,500 – £16,500, p.a. pro rata, contingent upon experience
Open Eye Gallery is one of the UK’s leading not-for-profit photography spaces and the only gallery of its kind in the North West of England. We believe photography is for everyone and can be meaningful, informing our present and inspiring positive futures.
Open Eye Gallery is developing as a learning organisation and offers opportunities for self-development. This role has been created to support Open Eye Gallery’s income generation through retail and commercial outlets. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help develop, implement and manage income generating activities alongside Open Eye Gallery’s small team. The gallery houses a modest retail space, which links up to an e-commerce platform (online shop launching summer 2016) and regularly hosts public events.
Along with co-ordinating a wide range of events with the Open Eye Gallery team, you will be responsible for providing a positive first experience of Open Eye Gallery by welcoming and engaging visitors as well as supervising placements and volunteers as required.
The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of retail and sales with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast passed environment.
