Relationship Manager, Libraries  

Based in Newcastle, Leeds or Manchester  

Salary £30,578 per annum, plus excellent benefits 

Contract: Permanent, working 35 hours per week

In this role you will play an important part in supporting the development of public libraries in England. You will be responsible for liaising with library services across the North and as part of the National Libraries team contribute to shaping Arts Council library policy and strategy. You will have a focus on building empowering and enduring relationships including responsibility for a portfolio of funded organisations. This will include monitoring performance against business plans, funding agreements with Arts Council England and cultural programmes.

You will have specific expertise and experience of working in or with libraries. This will be combined with a good understanding of the wider cultural sector in England and of the current challenges and opportunities facing it. You’ll also have excellent skills in collaboration, influencing and advocacy and a passion for libraries, arts and culture.

You will need an understanding of organisational dynamics including business planning, financial reporting, performance management and governance. With a diverse portfolio of external partner relationships to maintain, you will be self-reliant and able to work on your own initiative.
