Project Facilitator, Cheshire East Youth Theatre, Cheshire East Council

Cheshire East Youth Theatre is looking to appoint a Project Facilitator to run a new pilot project, The Tamarind Project – A study programme Pathway to the Creative Industries, in partnership with Crewe Lyceum Theatre and Total People. The successful applicant will plan and facilitate sessions with 20 students on a weekly basis and must have a good understanding of theatre provision. The 20 students will be recruited and supported by Total People who will be managing the Study Programme. The Project Facilitator will focus their sessions on confidence building, working with others, decision making, communication skills, customer service and performance aspects. The sessions will be designed alongside a youth theatre production in regards to developing understanding of: Preparing performing arts work, Promoting performing arts work, Basic backstage skills and Teamwork and Communication for performing arts. Each section will be supported by a masterclass led by Crewe Lyceum Theatre staff.

Dates: Thursday 17th September (subject to references and DBS) – Thursday 30th July 2016 including 23rd, 24th and 25th June 2016. The Project Facilitator will be responsible for managing their own time, and for providing their own transportation.

The Role: To plan, facilitate and evaluate sessions for students aged 16 – 19, each Thursday for 3.5 hours at Crewe Lyceum Theatre.

Fees: £5000, this is inclusive of planning/preparation, portfolio support and attendance to the youth theatre performance  dates in June 2016. Please note that this role is on a freelance basis and you will not be an employee of Cheshire East Council. Therefore on signing the contract you understand that your fee will not be inclusive of TAX or National Insurance.

Public Liability Insurance: The Project Facilitator must be registered for income tax and have his or her own public liability insurance up to £5 million.
