In this role you’ll produce inspirational opportunities for participation through workshops, events, talks and other activities. Engaging with a range of identified audiences, including families, young people and adults, you’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across this programme and will work with our collections to inform and inspire. You’ll have responsibility for ensuring this programme is purposeful, and ensure it meets Lakeland Arts’ audience development plan.

 

Key responsibilities

Participation programme

  • Ensure Windermere Jetty is an enjoyable and memorable place for children, young people, families and adults to visit
  • Devise, deliver and develop the participation (non-school) programme at Windermere Jetty, making every visit a participatory one for broad and inclusive audience
  • Initiate projects to develop long term relationships with local audiences and communities based on their needs, ensuring that they meet the strategic priorities of Lakeland Arts
  • Plan, coordinate, manage and produce small to medium scale participatory events, with the Windermere Jetty team, that connects the local story to National activity and ideas
  • Manage the Learning and project associated budgets in liaison with the HoP and Finance Department
  • Contribute to Lakeland Arts meetings to discuss, plan and integrate collections and ideas with the participation programme alongside their promotion and funding
  • Support the Learning Officer (Schools and Families) during term time, where time permits

 

Research, development and networking

  • Continue to research and develop the most innovative ways to engage a enthuse a broad audience with Windermere Jetty
  • Build upon existing partnerships (e.g. Family Learning Week, The Big Draw) and identify a range of possible local and national organisations to develop beneficial partnerships with
  • Advocate and share Lakeland Art activity within the wider museum sector (e.g. case studies for GEM, STEM agenda, AIM etc)
  • Contribute to writing fundraising bids and stakeholder reports to the Arts Council, trusts, foundations and private individuals as relevant
  • Contribute to Lakeland Art’s stakeholder events
  • Take responsibility for own personal and professional development
  • Manage and oversee volunteers, creative practitioners and artists
