PR & Marketing Consultant, ORME project, Conwy County Borough Council
Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) is seeking to appoint a PR and Marketing Consultant or agency to work as a partner supporting the council and its stakeholders to achieve the wider aims of the ORME project, a spectacular culmination of Wales’ Year of Discovery 2019 and an unforgettable event for North Wales.
Over the last few years CCBC has developed into an award-winning County recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for national and international business, sporting and cultural events. The Council’s investment in events has become a key aspect of its regeneration work bringing in excess of GBP 25 million per year across the local economy, and the County is meeting its goal of being the lead Authority in event management and organisation in North Wales.
One of the main focal points of tourism development will be a new winter offer in the county’s accommodation hub, Llandudno, and reaching across the county. This offer will be launched in 2018 with ORME, a major large-scale event that will provide a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle to celebrate Wales’s Year of the Sea. ORME will showcase the county’s ambition, unique offer and quality to a UK and potentially international audience. It will take place (subject to funding confirmation) over the weekend of 20 – 22 October 2019.
The ability to communicate in English is essential and a knowledge of Welsh is desirable.
