Community Arts North West (CAN) are looking to recruit a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our talented team at our centre based in the thriving Northern Quarter of Manchester city centre.

As a new full-time post, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic marketer to make their mark. We’re looking for someone who can help us to communicate the company’s unique achievements, culturally diverse work practice and strong socially engaged artistic outcomes to a wider public.

Utilising your knowledge and passion for arts marketing, you’ll lead on the development and implementation of a new company marketing and communications strategy, to support CAN’s National Portfolio programme, fund-raising objectives and company ambitions.

Passionate about arts engagement, you’ll lead on CAN’s audience development plan. Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and sector research, you’ll take ownership of this area, combining industry knowledge with your own creative marketing ideas to understand and extend our audiences.

As one of our most important marketing tools, you’ll be responsible for the up-keep and development of the CAN databases and associated systems to meet both the monitoring and marketing needs of the company. Strengthening this area, you’ll do so to increase customer understanding and utilise knowledge to inform marketing activities.

A highly organised individual, who is adept at problem solving, you’ll be a self-starter who thrives using their own initiative to take responsibility, meet deadlines and respond to multiple priorities. Comfortable at operating at both a strategic and operational level, your excellent communication skills will enable effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders, including public presentations and VIP events.

You’ll be a first-rate copywriter with proven ability to write engaging copy, which will help you bring our programme to life on the page. You’ll also be a meticulous proof-reader with a good eye for detail and contemporary design, enabling the highest standards to be achieved across our communications.

Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, but you will need at times to work flexibly and be available for occasional evenings and weekends as required by the job. This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period.

Salary: £22,000-24,000 per annum depending on experience. A company pension scheme in line with new pension regulations is available after the three-month probation period.
