Male Performer, Bordello Theatre

Bordello are seeking a Male actor to take the part of Jack Harland in the outdoor production Harland and Wilkinson; Tales of Wonder. The production is being staged as part of the Lancashire Encounters festival in Preston, Lancashire. You will be joining an established cast of 3 existing company members. The chosen candidate must be experienced in ensemble and devised processes and performance.

Synopsis: 
‘We invite you to join Harland and Wilkinson as we reveal their collection of stories folk lore and legends the result of years of scientific discovery and mystical exploration. Come and be amazed by their tales of old and maybe become part of a new story to add to their cart of curiosity. Blending live music, theatre and visual arts this family friendly show invites you into a world of wonder where tall tales may actually be true and nothing is quite what it seems.’

Role:  
Jack Harland is a celebrated anthropologist who has traveled the world seeking and collecting tales, superstitions, folk lore and legends. Harland is an intelligent, astute and forward thinking scientist who is always ready to roll up his sleeves and dig deep to find the truth behind the tales. Harland is accompanied by his partner T.T Wilkinson and his trusted apprentice Rose. A skilled story teller and musician Harland is always the first to strike up the band, dim the lights and weave the stories.

Requirements: 
Singing to a strong lead level
Physical Theatre experience
Exceptional Story telling ability
Ensemble and Devised process and performance experience
Demonstrable experience of outdoor theatre

Age: 25 – 40 years

Look:  There is no fixed look for Harland and we are more interested in performance ability for this essential role.

Audition Workshop – Thursday 3rd September
Rehearsal Days – Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September
Performance Week – 21st – 27th September

Fees:  £420 total fee (£40 per rehearsal day & £340 for production week)
