£21,000 – £24,000 (F/T 34 hours) 12 month contract.
Creative and ambitious youth worker with excellent filmmaking and youth facilitation skills wanted for innovative community project.
Passionate about youth participation? Love film? Excited about using film and social media to engage young people in issues that affect them directly?
Want to work for an award winning youth project within an ambitious and friendly team?
We are looking for a full-time youth worker (34 hours) with excellent filmmaking and youth facilitation skills to lead filmmaking projects in Merseyside.
Cut Films is a peer-to-peer film and social media project from national charity, the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. The Liverpool Cut Films Project will actively engage local young people in learning about the dangers of tobacco through filmmaking.
The successful candidate will work with secondary schools in Merseyside and support young people in other informal settings through workshops, assemblies and a youth panel.
The role will project manage two main programmes; Liverpool Cut Films, which has an important research study attached to it, and a long term smoke-free creative media project with Everton Free School. Ad hoc projects might also arise.
We are looking for a creative and very organised individual with a flair and passion for working with young people through film and other creative media.
You’ll be diving headlong into the project, so we’re for someone with great organisational skills, a doer who can get stuck right in and effectively manage their time.
We envisage the role will be out working with young people 80% of the time.
This role will be based in Roy Castle Lung Castle Foundation office in Merseyside, although your line manager is based in Central London. Training for the role will be provided in London.
Access to a car is favourable for getting about Merseyside with filmmaking equipment.
Although initially a 12-month contract, we would hope to keep the right candidate dependent on repeat funding.
