The Department of Art and Design is one of three departments in the School of Arts and Media, which in turn makes up one of the two Schools within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The School of Humanities comprises Departments of English, History and Archaeology, Modern Languages and Theology and Religious Studies and the School of Arts and Media comprises Departments of Art and Design, Media, and Performing Arts.

Duties:

  • To provide a supportive learning environment for students across single and combined honours programmes within the Art & Design Department, to develop graduate level skills in critical and contextual studies.
  • To participate in the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across Art & Design with an emphasis on the integration of theory and practice and cultivation of professional writing skills.
  • To develop and implement teaching and learning initiatives, in particular the integration of study skills into the curriculum across programmes within Art & Design.

We require applicants to hold a good undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, a Masters level qualification and Fellowship of a relevant professional body (e.g.HEA). Candidates are also required to have a PhD or willingness to achieve this within an agreed timescale
