The Imperial War Museum are embarking on an ambitious Digital transformation. There is a diverse set of business applications which have been traditionally managed within business siloes (Collections, Asset Management, CRM, Event Management, Ticketing, etc.) but in order to support that transformation these need to be brought together within a holistic capability model and delivery framework. IWM need to underpin the transformation with an agreed architecture and roadmap for all its business systems backed by a coherent delivery model to achieve this.

You will have a unique mix of skills encompassing; relationship management, architecture and delivery (both internal and more so supplier management). You’ll have managed significant business systems delivery projects from architecture through to operation, including supplier selection and management thereof. Knowledge of CRM implementations, integration architectures and a solid grasp of digital technologies is crucial.  You should be a trained Prince 2 PM but equally adept at operating as a Scrum Master. Bringing discipline and maturity where there is ambiguity will be a key skill.

Technical Architecture:

Working with the CIO, other members of IT and AV Services, Digital Engagement and external suppliers you will take the lead role in developing the design and roadmap of the IWM’s Digital Technical Architecture. This will cover mainly the core platforms used to deliver business functionality but also the middleware layer that will provide integration between platforms. This architecture will be composed of the systems that power the IWM’s products and services on the web and in the Museum.

Your role will own the vision for this architecture, and lead the development of the business requirements and procurement process both for systems and implementation partners. Your role will establish an agile working process within the IT and AV Services Development team, with stakeholders and with partners to enable the Digital Transformation programme to move at speed whilst delivering business needs.

Interviews will be held at IWM North (Manchester) on Wednesday 21 November 2018
