We currently have the post(s) of Head of Museum Exhibitions available.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Audiences & Media, you will provide inspiring leadership and management for a wide-ranging portfolio of exhibitions, displays and gallery refreshment programmes across NML. You will drive creativity and innovation, developing a significant level of knowledge on a wide range of subjects. Delivering projects in line with NML’s strategy and vision, you will have a particular focus on the World Museum, Museum of Liverpool, Maritime Museum and International Slavery Museum. You will also contribute to shaping and developing of exhibition, display and experiences as part of the Waterfront Transformation Programme, that is set to transform our waterfront venues, and the experiences they offer to the public.
You will be responsible for devising and delivering projects across a 5-year programme, leading cross-disciplinary teams involving key internal and external stakeholders, building a network of creative partnerships with artists, guest curators, consultants, community champions, and commercial partners. You will manage complex budgets and multiple funding streams, with individual projects up to, and sometimes over c. £1.5m. You will also play a major role in driving and achieving income targets for charged experiences, fundraising and donations.
The role is critical to the delivery of memorable experiences for visitors, for building bigger and more diverse audiences and for supporting the development of NML as a high performing cultural business.
