Head of Development/Fundraising, Bluecoat

As a much-loved contemporary art centre in Liverpool’s oldest city centre building Bluecoat is looking for a Head of Development (fundraising) to join our team. This is a newly created role reporting to the CEO. You will bring considerable fundraising knowledge and expertise in order to re-shape and deliver the way we generate income from all income streams.

More specifically the Head of Development will:

  • Deliver a new fundraising strategy for Bluecoat to secure sustainable income growth against agreed targets from a variety of income streams.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies and action plans for all the main fundraising areas including major donors, individual giving, corporate fundraising and trusts and foundations.
  • Work with the Leadership Group and Trustees to identify and research potential funding opportunities, developing proposals for projects that could attract new funding and meet specific needs.

The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive fundraising experience and a strong track-record in developing and managing traditional and new streams, on a significant scale. They will lead on strategic planning for the organisation, managing and developing key relationships with stakeholders, partners and funding organisations.

This is a very hands on fundraising role and the post holder will be expected to contribute significantly to day to day fundraising activities. Alongside this you will need to bring to the table proven experience of fundraising at a strategic and operational level across the income streams.
