Head of Camerata in the Community, Manchester Camerata

Glastonbury openers and UK Ensemble of the Year (RPS Music Awards 2017) – Manchester Camerata is redefining what an orchestra can do. Famous for innovation, we pop up in all sorts of places and collaborate with a spectrum of artists, from classical superstars like Martha Argerich to iconic band, New Order. We opened the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury last year with our collaboration with the Hacienda DJs. Our Music Director and conductor, Gábor Takács-Nagy, is one of the finest musicians on the planet, and a magnet for international artists.

We’re looking for an inspirational, creatively-minded and driven individual to lead our Camerata in the Community programme. Passionate about participatory arts, you will manage all aspects of our Health & Wellbeing and Young People in Schools programme, which reaches up to 15,000 people a year. You’ll work with and create key partnerships with external partners to devise new programmes of work, meeting the overall aims of the Manchester Camerata Strategic Plan. The Head of CITC manages a focussed team and network of practitioners from the orchestra to deliver high quality projects that respond to the needs of participants.
