Manchester International Festival is the world’s first major arts festival of original commissions, taking place biennially in Manchester, UK.
The Festival works with co-commissioning partners around the world, bringing together the leading artists of our time in extraordinary new collaborations.
We are now looking for an Executive Director to join our new Artistic Director & Chief Exec (AD/CEO) John McGrath and Managing Director (MD) Christine Cort, leading the festival into the next stage of its development.
With responsibility for the financial, administrative and managerial health of the company, the Executive Director will also be a key part of the Producing arm of the festival, taking on executive producing responsibilities across a number of projects, with an overview of all technical aspects of the programme.
Working closely with the AD/CEO, MD and key partners, you will contribute to plans for the cultural infrastructure of Manchester, including the development of a major new arts venue, The Factory
We are looking for candidates with a proven ability to help lead a complex organisation at an executive level and with considerable experience of producing new work on a significant scale. We welcome applications from all areas of the arts. Ideally candidates will have experience in several of the art forms at the heart of the festival: music, theatre, visual arts, dance, opera, digital, and in new forms of collaboration. International applicants are welcome.
