Description

The Aim Sky High Company is an award winning youth dance organisation that works with children and young people aged 4-18 years old solving social issues through the arts. We are passionate about what we do and produce high quality work and delivery. Recent awards include:

– Barclays School for Start-Ups 2013 Winner

– Lenovo Social Impact Award 2014

– Social Enterprise UK ‘ Inspirigin Youth’ Social Enteprise Award Winner 2015

– Duke of York Young Enterpreneur of the Year Award 2016

…and more.

We are looking for an experienced freelance drama facilitator to work within our TOTs school and Training School on Saturday mornings 9.30am-1pm.

Within our Training school, students are current North-West and European Streetdance Champions who participate in a minimum of 7 hours dance a week. We need a facilitator who can produce high quality drama that can run alongside our dance at our annual and christmas shows. The children within the Training school are used to youth lead sessions and a youth arts worker approach to learning and participation. For example, they devised a remixed version of Cinderella called  ‘Cindequisha’ for this annual show based around current urban culture. We have very talented students who need pushing and it is really important for us that we find the right person for the job.

Our TOTS are aged 4-6 years old and participate in 30 minutes of drama, working towards two performances each year. It is essential that the right candidate has skills to engage this age group.

DBS check and child protection training is desired but we can help with this.

Pay: £15 per hour

Interviews: July-August 2016

Working contract: September 2016-July 2017 with school holidays off.
