Director of Development, Theatr Clwyd

Charity People are working in exclusive partnership with Theatr Clwyd.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to expand our fundraising strategy into the future. Theatr Clwyd’s new Development Department aims to be a creative and innovative source of fundraising ideas to help progress new funding streams for the company and to develop the work with community fundraising, sponsorship, trusts and foundations and to lead us through the Capital fundraising campaign to ensure the future resilience of this unique arts centre, the most prolific and highly regarded producing house in Wales.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader, able to create and deliver fundraising strategy at all levels using the unique opportunities offered by an artistic organisation and theatre producing house. We want Theatr Clwyd to have long-lasting and meaningful relationships with funders (both from the corporate and charity sectors) and to be at the forefront of building a fundraising relationship with our community.

The Director of Development will lead the Development team, working with the Executive Director to create, develop and implement a new strategy for fundraising for our operations, artistic projects and Creative Engagement work – as well as fundraising towards the major Capital Project which is currently at feasibility stage. Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate a range of skills and experience in developing major fundraising strategy, have successfully secured funding from corporate sponsors as well as through trusts and foundations. The successful candidate will have an interest in the arts and theatre, be a charismatic individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have previously worked in development within the arts, culture or charitable sectors.

We are able to consider flexible working options, as well as discuss some homeworking options (1-2 days per week) for exceptional candidates.
