Dance Instructor, The Brain Charity

Contract: 48 weeks

Base: The Brain Charity, Norton Street, Liverpool & Multiple Locations

Hours: 2hrs per week (flexible working hours)

The brain is a wonderful and mysterious thing: constantly in motion, living, growing and reconfiguring itself over and over again until we are well into our mid 20’s and even our 30’s.

At The Brain Charity, we believe that early intervention for children and young people with neurological conditions is vital and that every child should have the support they need to reach their full potential.

Because The Brain Charity is a medium-sized charity, we have the freedom to innovate, and because of our unique position, bridging both health and social care, we are perfectly placed to take new ideas to the next level.

Through the receipt of funding from BBC Children in Need, the Brain Changer Arts Project will utilise the skills of professional dancers and visual artists to work alongside those working in the fields of both neuro-physiotherapy and neuro-occupational therapy to improve the lives of children and young people with neurological conditions.

The Brain Charity will deliver regular dance and art/craft-based classes in which the moves, routines and exercises are based on wide-ranging and high impact physiotherapy and occupational therapy techniques designed specifically to improve mobility, hand and arm skills and confidence in the children and young people taking part.

If you are passionate about our cause and would like to become part of a vibrant and growing team we would love to hear from you.

The Dance Instructor will work with the Physiotherapist to design, prepare and deliver high quality dance-based physiotherapy exercises to children and young people. They will also support the Project Coordinator in regular monitoring of the project, including producing evaluation reports at the end of each year.
